Ridiculously scary, believable and fun By Sheila Deeth VINE VOICE on November 1, 2014 Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
What happens when the present society’s preoccupations get carried through to the next? After the world has fallen apart, a new religion, dedicated to consumerism and the pursuit of happiness, springs up among survivors in this intriguing novel by Peter Joseph Swanson. The story’s told with the author’s trademark fast-paced dialog, quirky characters, and convincing dissociation from reality. Of course nothing can go wrong, and of course, if does.
Futuristic touches are nicely light and unexplained; my favorite is the throwaway line of dialog, “He’s even still on his first set of lungs...” Readers and characters, are left to figure out where we’ve been and where we’re going without being told, which makes for a thoroughly enthralling and gripping read.
Imagine Star Wars blended with Mad Max. Add irreverent and irredeemable touches of religion and myth, a few cool hints of mystery, some thoroughly intriguing points of view, and “the evocative nature of ruins,” and you’ll get the idea.
Heiress Apocalypse is an enthralling, entertaining, thought-provoking vision of a truly scary future that just might be waiting if we live long enough.
Disclosure: I was delighted to find this when it was free, and even more delighted to finally get around to reading it.

I especially enjoyed the relationships among the characters. The mother and daughter relationship was especially meaningful to me. A delightful read, but sometimes a little scary. Very good reading.
